Thinking about how repentance is a community endeavor, not an individual one. I think our tendency as Americans is to make repentance a spiritual thing between us and Jesus, but in the Bible it's very much a tangible thing.
You've gotta tear down your Asherah poles, you've gotta pay back all that money you stole from people (plus some extra for their trouble), you've gotta actually go to your neighbor and square up before you offer your sacrifices, you've gotta start actually celebrating the feasts.
Like, for me right now, I'm working on repenting of not keeping the commandment to honor my mother and father by going up there and actually helping them out with some stuff. I'm working on repenting of my prayerlessness by actually, like, praying and stuff.
