I wrote a long thread on this recently, but will repeat, focusing on the violent insurrection as an isolated event under sells the true conspiracy. I think Trump and his campaign set out a two part strategy, To win legally, but if that failed, to undermine the legal election
results. That effort at sedition started with slowing mail in voting at USPS, continued with fraudulent lawsuits with no basis in fact intended not to win but to slow down the process and give time to lobby R office holders and legislators to appoint rump electors. Trying to
force the election (absent certification) to the House of Representatives where R's held a majority of states. The use of the violent right wing groups like Proud Boys and others were to intimidate others and ultimately in desperation to stop the certification by violence. It
was a far broader and more well thought out conspiracy at insurrection and Sedition. It should be looked at as a whole not only as one isolated violent act of Insurrection. Planned early on and many involved. Use of the violent Right wing just the last act.
