One thing for folks talking platform policy issues this week in the wake of the attack on the Capitol—many of the staffers and members in Congress working on all sides of these issues were personally affected in a very traumatic way by the attack. 1/
Twitter is bad for this. But I’m going to try, and encourage others, to slow down a bit and be sensitive and careful in talking about these issues and how they relate to the attack. 2/
Our current moment is incredibly charged and we should all be careful not to accidentally (or intentionally) cast aspersions at people working hard and in good faith on these issues. 3/
(I’m grateful to someone who politely pointed out to me offline that something I wrote came off the wrong way in this regard, and appreciate their grace in indulging my explanation and apology.) /fin
