✴️Research years:
I spent my research time as a @SaferSurgery Surgical Safety Fellow and @Fogarty_NIH scholar in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, working on programs to improve surgical quality and safety. Our team implemented a program to reduce SSI in 8 hospitals...
...and I was fortunate to work with colleagues across professional societies, Ministries of Health, and NGOs.
In my research years, my favorite hobby was travel! I climbed Kilimanjaro, sailed the Greek Isles, visited lemurs and baobabs in Madagascar, shared beautiful Ethiopia with my family and friends, and experienced some of West African culture in Liberia.
