I think one of the very real dangers going forward is that moderate Democrats embrace a narrative going forward that the reason the police and military response on 1/6 was so lackluster was because of BLM in the summer and worries about being too "heavy-handed" this time.

It is, needless to say, bullshit. It's not even really worth engaging with in good faith, because it lacks even an elementary political analysis.
This is yet another reason why lazy "both-sidesism" and horseshoe theory is so toxic. Because there really *IS* an important difference between a BLM protest and a violent Trump rally consisting of ex-military types and off-duty cops.
Also, genuinely curious how Slotkin, who is only in her second term in Congress, managed to be the point person talking to the JCS.
