Thread: 1. Hyperreality comes from the observation that in postmodern society the division between virtual and the real becomes illusive. Hyperpolitics is the blending of hyperreality and politics, or of politically themed infotainment (especially conspiracies) and politics.
2. The point of hyperpolitics is not to create change, but to add layers of complexity, confusion and entertainment to the usual spectacle politics.
3. Hyperpolitics gives the illusion of the machinations of establishment politics being more important than they are and thus sucks dissident energy into old bipartisan dialects.
4. Every election becomes the most important ever, dissidents that should be checked out of establishment politics and building alternatives become invested in one side of the game due to fear of the other side.
5. This is what creates the polarisation paradox - although things are becoming increasingly polarised, the center retains remarkable stability because hyperpolitics pulls the extremes back into the center. Instead of going our own way our focus is drawn back to the spectacle.
6. The spectacle hasn't changed, but now people observe it through spectacles containing layers and layers of hyperpolitical subtext.
Blue team vs. Red Team is now communism vs freedom, or pluralism vs white supremacy, satanic pedos vs Gods chosen, anti-whites vs pro whites etc.

7. January 6th was the height of hyperpolitics. People that believed an election was rigged by globalists, many of them adherents to Q and other post-truth narratives stormed the center of government thinking they were part of a coup
8. Many of them believed they were part of a heroic coup, that Trump or the military were on their side. When they finally made it to the center of power, their instinctive response was to start taking selfies and livestreaming.
9. The hyperpolitical spectacle had now bubbled up and burned the laps of the elite, again showing how impossible it now is to separate hyperreal infotainment (Alex Jones, IRL livestreaming) and real world politics.
10. Alex Jones, Ali, Trump and the other producers of hyperpolitics quickly disavowed and distanced themselves from the events. Because it was in fact never the intention of the grifters/opportunists that created/accelerated hyperpolitics that it would actually change politics.
