Under the current restrictions the manufacturing sector can continue to operate in Scotland.

There are a number of steps manufacturers should take to restrict the spread of the virus and ensure the safety of employees. 1/6
Minimise work that cannot be done from home

🔷 It will only be a reasonable excuse to leave your home to go to work, if that work cannot be done from home

🔷 For example, onsite manufacturing and construction activity – but this must be kept to an absolute minimum

2/6
Excellent compliance has allowed manufacturing to continue to operate

🔷 It’s vital businesses continue to ensure compliance with all guidance

🔷 Follow physical distancing and hygiene measures including at mealtimes and in shared accommodation to prevent outbreaks

3/6
Review your operations and reduce contacts

🔷 We need every business that remains open to look at their operations

🔷 Make sure that every single function that can be done by people working at home is being done in that way

4/6
Ensure distancing in canteens

🔷 For workplace canteens it is a requirement from Friday 8 January that employees sit 2 metres or more apart, rather than 1 metre

🔷 Follow the rules to prevent the virus spreading and to keep people safe

5/6
Schools & nurseries are closed to majority of pupils so most pupils will be learning online

🔷 This will affect working parents with children at home so flexible support from employers will be needed

🔷 Remember: employers can continue to access furlough during this period
