VISION
One of my favorite parts of Williamsâ game is his vision at the line of scrimmage. He easily sees the hole and follows his blockers to the second level. He obviously benefits from a really good run-blocking NC o-line, but even at the 2nd level he sees the open field space

CONTACT BALANCE
In clip 1 I absolutely love how Williams shrugs off arm tackles and bounces off defenders to stay on his feet just enough to score. Next clip same thing as he follows his blockers to the outside for a big run. 3rd clip he shows his vision and patience at the LOS

Again, in the all the clips you see his contact balance and ability to shed defenders
. In the next 2 clips I love his vision at the LOS. He finds the hole quickly and is also elusive in between the tackles. & he shows off his power dragging defenders with him for extra yards

POWER
I love this clip even though all he does is get back to the LOS. It takes 5 defenders to get him down because again, he just sheds defenders in the backfield and keeps his legs churning. He is def a powerful back and he demonstrates constantly as he isnât afraid of contact

Here he puts it all together. Clip 1 he shows his vision at the LOS, sheds tackles + follows his blockers for a solid gain. Clip 2 he shows his vision and follows his blockers, carrying 4 defenders with him. Finally he shows an underrated part of his game, he catches w/soft hands
Williams can be a 3 down back as well as getting utilization at the goal line. With his power & vision at the LOS, he will be a very effective back in GL situations. In the 2nd clip you can see another example of his nose for the end zone. He doesnât have to come off the field
BLOCKING
Pass pro and blocking isnât the sexiest or even the best part of Williamsâ game, but itâs important. He shows a willingness to block for his teammates and any GM loves to see that. In the 1st clip is solid pass pro where he picks up pressure. 2nd is a solid lead block

In these clips he shows off his vision at the LOS and sees thereâs nothing there. He bounces it out just enough to get a big gain out of nothing. In the 2nd clip I love how he follows his blockers and shows off his burst & open field speed when he breaks to the next level
Finally, this is my favorite clip of his. Evades tacklers behind the line, finds a crease behind his blockers, shows everyone Najee isnât the only one with a nice hurdle, trucks someone while off-balance, and just shrugs off tackles for a MASSIVE gain. He puts it all together
So that was all of the good, but there is some knocks on his game as well:
- His love of contact is a good thing, but also worrisome when it comes to injuries. But he wasnât overused at NC and should have plenty of tread left on the tires.

- There were times I noticed he got caught running too vertical and would get stood up at the LOS.
- He lacks elite speed in the open field. Thatâs okay though, you donât need elite speed to be successful in the NFL. He can make his name in other categories that he excels in

Williams is a player I fell in love with watching his tape. He possesses a lot of traits I love to see in a RB. As of right now, heâs being overshadowed by Najee and Ettiene, but I donât think the drop off is as drastic as it seems. He is quickly rising up my draft board
If youâve made it this far I would greatly appreciate a retweet and any feedback you have! This is my first time sharing my tape breakdown so anything I missed or should be looking more at, Iâd greatly appreciate you letting me know!
