If you are someone who has just completed about 2 decades on planet Earth here is some advice from someone who has just completed her 20s.

Below are my top 10 nuggets of advice I would have loved to give my 20-year-old self
1) We all need escape velocity to exit our current orbit & better our life.

You should aim to get it in your 20s because of the concept of compounding.

One of the best ways to get it still remains formal education. It gives you a network + a brand that opens lots of doors
2) Your life is not going to be static - don't be afraid to commit to something
Chase your curiosity. When presented with multiple options pick the one that helps with regret minimization.

You have time on your side & can always pivot once you have the right safety net in place
3) The allure of productivity porn is strong. Avoid getting sucked by it.

Remember you are getting dopamine hits from chasing numbers and not the activity per se.

Measuring things is good. But everything does not need to be measured.
4) Don't be afraid of free time. It is not always wasted.

We need this for both creativity and consolidating learnings.

Doing nothing does not mean you are lazy. It means you are giving yourself some rest.
5) You are young only once, work hard but enjoy life too. This is not an either-or

Go to parties. Do crazy stuff. Make sure you have those stories that will make you smile later in life.
6) Spend time with your parents, they are only growing old.

Lots of people, unfortunately, start losing parents by their late 20s, early 30s.

Now that you are an adult get to know them as adults!
7) Recognize your privilege. The fact that you have free time is a privilege too.

In all likelihood, someone is doing unpaid work (such as a parent cooking, cleaning up, working to pay the rent) so you can get this time for yourself. Appreciate those people in your life.
8) The person you eventually marry has a great impact on your life. Make sure that person is right for you.
9) Financial success is a combination of hard work, luck, and privilege.

Make money, save money.

There is great freedom in knowing you can take care of yourself and a few others
10) Take care of your body. Build good habits. Sleep well. Exercise often. Eat clean. And drink water. Lots of water. Laugh daily. Smile often and fall in love with someone deeply.
