First bit of good news (or "improved bad news" - take your pick): the General Revenue shortfall through the end of state fiscal 2021 is now only $946 million, vs $4.6 billion last July. #txbudget

But that ending balance for 2021 will change after #txlege finalizes a supplemental #txbudget bill that makes the 5% interim cuts requested in 2020 ($1 billion?) and deals with shortfalls in health care (Medicaid, prisons). Another unknown: add'l federal aid that can replace GR.
