Citizens in Quebec are not allowed to leave their homes between 8pm-5am. They have enforced a curfew to keep people “safe from the virus”.

What will they do about their freedoms blatantly being violated? Probably nothing. If they do, the media will call it white supremacist.
I think they, like most of the world, will do nothing because people desperately want instructions.

Making your own decisions requires taking responsibility for the associated risks. Lifestyles that cushion people from most risks cultivates people who are afraid of them.
It is a natural result of an infantilisation culture. My generation makes it painfully obvious they don’t want to grow up. We sterilize ourselves from parenthood. We rent instead of buying. We watch cartoons. We dress up in odd ways to get attention. Using the word “adulting”
Never growing up means never having to face the risks of making our own decisions.

The risks are still there, we just give someone else the responsibility to choose which we take. In doing so, capitulate the power to lead our own lives.
Growing up is moving through the natural stages of life. Stagnation is a sign of death. All that is alive, flows.
“Growing up” doesn’t mean give up your ability to be creative, and full of life. That is the drab version of a “grown up” we have from the 80s. In fact this caricature grown up, fearfully obedient, is still a scared infant.
Growing up means being courageous and strong enough to take the risks and lead life as we choose to.
