A nursing home in upstate New York is having a massive #Covid outbreak that has killed 24 residents, about 10%, including 11 since Jan. 6.

What’s striking: the outbreak coincides with an aggressive vaccination program - 80% of residents were vaccinated beginning Dec. 22.

2/ At the very least, shouldn’t @cdcgov and the state be checking the timing of the vaccinations versus deaths? Very few nursing homes began vaccinations that early - this may be a signal event. At the least it is worth ruling out a connection.

3/ Btw, I agree it is possible the vaccine simply may not have had time to work - the article reports the outbreak began on Dec. 21, just as vaccinations were beginning. But it would be easy enough to check dates and know for sure.
