The puck drops for #HockeyTwitter
on Wednesday and @TwitterCanada couldn't be more excited.

Since the emoji launched, Toronto has led the way with the most volume of #HockeyTwitter
tweets. Rounding out the rest of the Top 5 are New York, Chicago, Boston, and Montreal (AKA 4 of the other Original 6 teams).

It's a bit of a surprise that the @MapleLeafs were the most talked-about team on #HockeyTwitter
last season as this was the first time in 5 years that a season's most tweeted about team was not featured in the Stanley Cup Final.

While @ovi8 was the most mentioned NHL player last season, @AM34 was the most mentioned player on a
team. While fans are talking a lot about @AM34, the most followed @MapleLeafs player is actually new addition @Simmonds17.

The NHL season kicks off in
with an all-time classic we'll see 10 times this year. The @CanadiensMTL visit the @MapleLeafs at @ScotiabankArena on Wednesday at 7pm. Keep it locked on Twitter as we know that we will have a
team in the 3rd round for the first time since 2018.

In other hockey news, you can also catch the inaugural game of Toronto's own @nwhl team, @TheTorontoSix, on January 23rd as they aim to win the Isobel Cup.
