Many moons ago, I use to help out in some Ask a Pony Panels at a conventions. It was always a delight to act a character and answer questions from some adorable kiddos. There is one question/answer that has been sticking in my mind that I feel everyone needs to hear. A Thread
This happened at Denver Pop Culture Con and at the time I was covering as Twilight. A sweet little one came up to the mic and asked a question that no one had ever asked before: "Why do you forgive some bad guys and destroy others?"

This was after the season ending with Tirek and it caught all of us off guard. Yet, for a little child, it is a VERY good question to be asking. Why did we forgive Luna and Starlight, but fight (and destroy) Tirek?

I explained that not everyone is forgivable. Not everyone can be saved and that there will be people that will not let you help them.
Did we want to save Tirek?
Absolutely.
Did he want US to save him?
Absolutely not.

There will be people you meet that can't be reformed and you have to make a stand against them. It's scary, but you need to. We don't always want to fight, but to be who you are and be the elements of harmony, you have to make those stands when someone won't see they're wrong.

The child nodded and the parents looked really pleased with the answer as well. All the cosplayers on that panel looked relieved I answered, but also nodded in agreement. Looking back at it now, I am relieved I was able to answer that question how I did.

With everything happened in the USA, I think it's REALLY important we remember this: Not everyone can be reformed and not everyone is going to let you help them. But it IS important you stand your ground and make it known where you stand. Do the right thing.

Also, it's really funny that I gave that answer as Twilight. Mostly because I know most people know me at Celestia.
