I'll editorialize my opinions on the PSYOP Captain in the events of DC in this thread......
First: I strongly condemn anyone who broke the law, and especially anyone who conducted an act of sedition.
Second: I strong support the position that military members can express their political opinions in peaceful ways so long as it is clear that they aren't doing so in uniform and that their politics stop when we put the uniform on.
Third: I'm not a lawyer.
I do not condemn anyone who participated in a peaceful rally. I disagree strongly with them, but that's as far as that goes.

If this PSYOP Captain conducted an act of outright mutiny against our Conditional government, I'm 100% confident that it will be resolved quickly.
If she (out of uniform) rallied people to come to DC to participate in a pro-Trump rally, and that's it, then she's very probably fine.

I respect her right to do so.

As I hope she's respect my right to, with the same job, attend a Woman's March in a pinch woven hat.
It's beneficial and it's GREAT, that soldiers from all perspectives decide to take the hard walk to become PSYOPers.

We don't have to agree with each other, and we often don't. That's what makes us good.
It's 1st Special Operations Command! Let the best of the best do the investigation work before we start freaking out.
Here's her quote:

If her facts are true then she was completely within her right and is unlikely to face any consequence (as it should be).

If she's wrong, she'll be court marshaled. That's how this works.
I want to stress that, SPECIFICALLY for PSYOP, the overwhelming objective in recruitment and retention of the force is to maintain a diversity of opinion.

Our JOB is to understand and change opinions in support of US objectives.
PSYOP doesn't work to meet anyone's quotas. We work to have the most diverse soldiers as possible looking at a problem.
Think about it:

SOMETIMES we need a 30 year old PSYOP Captain to break through the barrier that I was unable to speak to Iraqi women.

SOMETIMES we need a 60+ year old male with a beard to talk to a village elder.

SOMETIMES we need a variety of ethnicity or religion!
PSYOP is actually best when we all disagree with each other politically and look completely different from each other physically! We never know where we might go or who we might need.
I almost certainly don't agree with this Captain's personal politics, but I take her at her word that she upheld her oath, was only there to rally, and I will let the investigation play out.
Until the command says otherwise, she is still a Captain who has the potential to be in my chain of command, and I will support her honesty and integrity (as to why she was there and what she did).

I also support the investigation!
I am Enlisted. I have no qualms, not a one, working for anyone who disagrees with me politically. She could be my boss and that would be FINE.
That's how the uniform works. We guard democracy when in uniform. We can do whatever we want (including attending rally's) out of uniform.

Let the investigation do its job. Until the command says otherwise, she's still a O-3 which improves diversity in the MOS needing it.
We are AMERICA. She is a Captain in a Special Operations branch until she's proven to be unfit the job.

I would and will follow her lawful orders without question until command states otherwise.

That's how this works.
WE ARE NOT A MOB.

We need to come together to condemn a mob.
(Okay well, I'm a particular level of an asshole, so she might get some questions from this soldier. ;-). I'd still follow her orders!)
