Destressing Tips,
The past few weeks/months/year has been rather stressful.
I have a few things I do to destress and clear my mind that I'd like to share. Perhaps one or more of these might be useful?
1) Plenty of Water, a hydrated body/hydrated mind.
2) Go for a walk or some consistent movement (20-30% of our oxygen is consumed by our Brains, lack of movement our mind gets a bit choppy)
3) Your brain clears out waste product during REM sleep. It drains it through your spinal cord. Unlike the rest of your body that clears
it via your blood circulation. It's paramount you get good sleep to help clear our waste in your brain.
4) Lay flat on your back, lets on a chair bent at the knees with arms above your head (maybe listen to some calm music, mediation music, etc). This resets your adrenals
and takes a lot of pressure off your heart. Your legs pump blood up to your heart, so laying with your legs above your body, heart allows your heart to take a break (15-30 min daily). It might feel like too much at first, so start small 5-10 min if it is uncomfortable.
Arms above head when doing this helps with your lymph system that cleans your blood. It is around the area of your arm pit. Try not to fall asleep for you might get numb doing this, it isn't a very good feeling when this happens.
5) Epson salt baths, as hot as possible.
This will help boost your circulation. It also is good to consider doing this if you don't have time to work out as your body gets some of the benefit of the work out without the work.
6) Cold Showers (as cold as you can handle) Once again start out with a min or two, not too
cold and work up to it. If you want to crash take a cold shower at night and you'll be surprised how much this knocks you out.
7) Vitamins (to replenish what you might be missing in your diet)
8) Prayer goes a long way... as much as you feel like, you can never pray too much
or too little. It all counts!
9) Unencumbered time by yourself or family with ZERO Electronics. For as long as you can handle. Build up your resistance to always be "plugged in". We are not an appliance, its important that we don't act like one.
10) Finally, Expressing Gratitude for all of God's Blessings, the tiny moments are where the magic happens.
To be significant only requires a single moment in time. Never forget that, and just repeat it as often as possible ;-)
