Biological sex in mammals is binary (M/F). With all our advancements in genetics/medicine we currently have no way to change an individual's biological sex.

So why does this matter?

Sex chromosomes (X and Y) and the milieu of hormones that arise from them, play a fundamental role in determining and predicting everything from our life expectancy, autoimmunity risk and even what dosage of a particular drug we require.
