This is just an instinct, not a well-developed thought, but here goes: I am not bothered when a particular social media site bans a particular user, or group of users. But it strikes me as pretty bad if an entire social media platform like Parler can't find a host. Thoughts?
Particularly good reply from @mattblaze. https://twitter.com/mattblaze/status/1348556003093188614
Also very good replies from @pwnallthethings. https://twitter.com/pwnallthethings/status/1348557113786834944
Replies on the whole suggest to me that the Parler situation is messier than I had thought: That among 1) Parler making some specific decisions, 2) the specific timing of things, and 3) Parler having alternatives over time, there is less of a big lesson to be drawn from the ban.
Thanks, all, for the often-helpful discussion. I learned a lot.
