With Arsenal looking to bolster their creative stocks, many men have been linked with a move to the N5. In this thread, I will profile four players who Mikel Arteta could sign to return to the glorious, free-flowing days of Arsene Wenger (remember those)?
In this thread, I will profile:
- Emi Buendia
- Julian Brandt
- Houssem Aouar
- Christopher Nkunku
- Emi Buendia
- Julian Brandt
- Houssem Aouar
- Christopher Nkunku
BUENDIA
I feel that I’ve raved about Emi Buendia for a long time now, but Buendia is that good. The Argentine was one of the league’s best creators last season, ranking third for both expected assists and key passes per 90. For a Norwich side who scored 26 goals last term.

Buendia’s main strengths lie in the forms of creative passing and dribbling. He is excellent in both aspects and can also contribute defensively if needed. Because of his role at Norwich last season, he didn’t get in the box enough, ranking 44th for touches in the box.
BRANDT
Julian Brandt, currently of Borrusia Dortmund, seems to be out of favour at the German side. The 19/20 season saw him convert to an attacking midfielder, having previously spent time on the left. According to reliable sources, he’s available for as little as £25 million.

To quote @LTArsenal: “The German international is excellent when it comes to calling for the ball, making himself available in those half-spaces, driving at the opposition and playing incisive passes. This is something that Arsenal lack in the squad.” https://www.weloveyouarsenal.co.uk/post/a-closer-look-would-julian-brandt-be-a-good-purchase-for-arsenal
AOUAR
A man heavily linked to Arsenal recently, we've become acclimatised to Aouar. Why were Arsenal linked heavily? Because he offers something Arsenal sorely lack, and passes both the eye and stats tests. Looking at the numbers below, it’s clear to see he’s a great dribbler.

He’s more than a dribble merchant, however. He’s very good at making progressive runs (2.94 p/90). He’s also excellent at finding and exploiting space. Aouar is not very good in the final third, creativity wise, racking up a mere 0.14 xA p/90.
NKUNKU
Another one of RB Leipzig’s stars, Nkunku exploded onto the scene for the Germans last season, scoring 5 and assisting 15. Because of this, I’ve covered him in a previous thread. Why? The Frenchman can play as a 10 and can operate as a right-wing-back and a striker.

His biggest strengths come in the form of his versatility and footballing IQ, the latter of which helps him get into good positions. When defending, he presses from the front. His weaknesses come in the form of passing, decision-making and finishing. https://twitter.com/AllanRileyy/status/1331533537745354752
End of thread. Cheers for reading, if you enjoyed this thread, be sure to give it a retweet. I’m always looking to improve these threads and a part two (may) be in the works, so as always, all feedback is appreciated.
RTs appreciated.
