@piersmorgan Good grief Piers, its not about Teachers not wanting anyone to see their wallpaper! It's about the fact that teachers have been threatened with disciplinary action if, for example, their own children have appeared, or been heard!
Yet again, jumping on media stories and judging without asking the actual people who are affected. You have access to thousands of teachers here. Before criticising, ask them here what the issue is. Teachers being disciplined because they dare to have their own children at home??
Stories like this this spread quickly in the teaching community and as we are perfectly aware of similar ridiculous disciplinary action being taken over the years, without being specifically told otherwise, we tend towards belief.
We appreciate that you are one of the few who actually listened to our concerns re safety but please assume then, that if we are willing to risk our reputations and jobs to protect children, we are also not likely to be concerned about who will judge our decor.
There are also issues of equity. Not all our pupils, in some cases hardly any, can access live learning as there are multiple siblings doing the same or because of their parents work schedules. Some authorities do not allow it due to the legal privacy rights of the pupils.
Some teachers are rightly concerned about leaving themselves open to the harassment and judgment of parents, particularly the UfT parents, who are hell-bent on destroying the reputations of teachers. They have form for this.
There are many examples of pupils recording live lessons and sharing them on social media with the intention of harassment of teachers.
I had hoped you would know better of us than to jump on one ridiculous claim and give it credence on national TV.
