I can’t stop thinking about a Tweet I saw from a reporter yesterday that some Congresspeople are telling him privately they’re afraid to vote to impeach Trump b/c they fear for their families’ safety.

I am not exploring this subject by way of looking for excuses for them. Nowhere in the oath to defend the Constitution does it say “only when it’s perfectly safe to do so." They absolutely need to hold him accountable, despite the risks.

I guess just on some very human level, I empathize with them right now. I know from direct personal experience how scary some of Trump’s supporters can be.
