To our amazing fans: I (Kate) am sorry to have to announce that there will be no Kick Like A Girl in 2021. Unfortunately, I am having major surgery mid-way through the #AFLW season which made running the show this year almost impossible. Ironically, the final episode of KLAG 1/4
last year was about endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain & how the issue is being dealt with in the AFLW. At the time, I revealed that I also suffer from a severe form of the disease, which is why I need surgery. I share this openly because we don't talk enough about a disease 2/4
that can be extremely debilitating, but lacking in funding & research. It's my hope that talking about it will encourage others who may be in a similar situation to get support if they need it, or seek medical help if they have symptoms. I'll still be writing some ABC columns 3/4
but will take a break from those after surgery too. Hopefully this won't be the last KLAG & we will be back broadcasting soon. In the meantime, a big thanks to @3RRRFM and everyone else who has supported the show. 4/4 Read: my ABC column on endo and AFLW: https://ab.co/2XrXM0m
