SECDEF Chris Miller, POTUS, and everyone up there know that 6000 DC National Guard Soldiers stand no chance of stopping the amount of people that showed up on the 6th without using deadly force, so they would never put them in that situation to. So why are they there?....
To keep the criminals inside once the Insurrection Act is signed. Now what can the National Guard do while the real players step up? Pull security and restrict them from leaving those buildings and the city. So who would be conducting the actions? SOCOM and the JAG Branch.....
The military is the only option. It had to be this way.
