This is one of a thousand reasons just from 2020 alone that has me saying fuck your faux outrage over Wednesday. You started attacking Trump supporters at his rallies in 2015 unprovoked and continue doing it even today while the press and dem pols applaud and excuse you.
You target anyone outside your fundamentalist progressive religion for doxxing, harassment, try to get them fired & ruin their lives. YOU started the majority of this and when you are hit back you cry & call foul, demanding these people never be allowed on the internet again.
Nobody is buying the "unity" bullshit as party leaders have no other response but to smear their enemies as racists/white nationalists, freeing you to attack them with impunity. You are provided with pro bono lawyers, friendly judges and prosecutors, and face no punishment at all

The @FBI calls your crimes the actions of some nebulous "idea" and therefore they could not possibly be expected to crack down or stop these year-long riots, anymore than one could be expected to arrest a virus, or pollution, or bring charges against climate change.

I'm not emotionally invested in Trump or any politician. I'm with @Gingrich_of_PA when he says "I don't get invested in individual politicians, I get invested in policies and laws."

way it could, with democrats seizing on the event to use to punish their enemies, big tech to enact the political censorship they have been pressured to do for years, and now the snowball effect has begun with sites losing their hosting and payment services.
This is only going to inflame the problems that existed before Trump ran for office and continued to build during his time as POTUS. It confirms the worst fears of the people who voted for him because of what they saw, or needed to see, in him. And gave authoritarians all the
cover they need to bring their worst, most oppressive ideas to the floor for a vote, and for corporations to deny services to entire groups of people based on ambiguous "security concerns."
Maybe someone or some people step forward and help to diffuse what is coming, but I honestly doubt it. And my non-trolling hopes for some form of peaceful national divorce, longshot though it may be, likely isn't going to happen either. At least not anytime soon.
Things will continue to get worse, and the corporate press will be at the center of it, cheering and fanning the flames no matter what the human costs may be. The concerns of those proles in red states will continue to be laughed at by the CNN/Bulwark/Dispatch staff.
While I disagree with storming the Capitol based on a conspiracy theory, I understand the anger behind it and that anger is only going to needlessly intensify.
