Remember when BLM activists attacked everyone leaving the republican convention, including physically attacking Rand and his wife even as they were escorted by cops and @HouseDemocrats cheered on their blue militia and told them to make sure to harass every R they saw?
This is one of a thousand reasons just from 2020 alone that has me saying fuck your faux outrage over Wednesday. You started attacking Trump supporters at his rallies in 2015 unprovoked and continue doing it even today while the press and dem pols applaud and excuse you.
You target anyone outside your fundamentalist progressive religion for doxxing, harassment, try to get them fired & ruin their lives. YOU started the majority of this and when you are hit back you cry & call foul, demanding these people never be allowed on the internet again.
Nobody is buying the "unity" bullshit as party leaders have no other response but to smear their enemies as racists/white nationalists, freeing you to attack them with impunity. You are provided with pro bono lawyers, friendly judges and prosecutors, and face no punishment at all
You set businesses on fire while screaming about the privilege of those whose lives/income you've destroyed, knowing at the end of the night you MIGHT get arrested but will be released without charges within hours.
The @FBI calls your crimes the actions of some nebulous "idea" and therefore they could not possibly be expected to crack down or stop these year-long riots, anymore than one could be expected to arrest a virus, or pollution, or bring charges against climate change.
So not only do you effectively have the feds looking the other way, but every cause the evangelical left invents on campus that day gets corporate sponsorship within 72 hours. Starbucks wasps write "BLM" on their arms with sharpies, BLM agitprop appears on COD loading screens
You aren't fighting against "the system", you are fucking SPONSORED by it. The nation's capital gave you an entire city block outside the White House and named it in your honor in the middle of your US Arab Spring. And most of you likely don't even remember George Floyd's name.
You spend years attacking these people who are just trying to attend a rally of a politician they have turned to in large part because he is the first politician to look at you and your corporate press's actions over the years and say "fuck that and fuck you!"
This doesn't excuse his stoking the very dangerous flames of stolen election theories or not calming down the people storming the capitol on Wed by starting his "calm down guys" speech by repeating how the election was stolen. And yes, it lead to 2 poor people dying needlessly.
Decades and decades of malicious lies and behavior by the press and democrat politicians. Doxxing grandmothers for sharing pro-Trump memes on facebook, forklift operators who start pro-Trump groups on facebook, laughing at your concerns over the economy, crime, etc etc
Law professors suggesting there has to be some way to implement thought crime laws, all kinds of other absolute fucking lunacy from people in positions of power and influence (including conservatives you thought were allies) directed solely at YOU for voting for a man they hate
They use Trump as a proxy to attack you for your heretical beliefs, and the temperature has been building since the GW Bush years.
So then a global pandemic hits, adding to the anxiety and piling on the economic damage, and forcing us to vote in a method the US wasn't ready for

And yes it provided an opportunity for an increased level of fraud, and raised a TON of legit concerns.
But nothing any of Trump's legal team was doing, or could do, would likely have changed the outcome. And it fucking sucks that many weren't more honest about this.

Trump lost.
It sucks, but he lost.
Republicans had an INCREDIBLE night on election night, given the predictions but still lost the top spot.
HOWEVER, we could have salvaged the arguably biggest prize of all which is the senate.
But instead...well....we didn't.

I'm not emotionally invested in Trump or any politician. I'm with @Gingrich_of_PA when he says "I don't get invested in individual politicians, I get invested in policies and laws."
I get why people do get so invested in politicians, even though I strongly disagree with doing so

I didn't mean to do some Seth Abramson thing here, just started ranting and got carried away.
But things are a TON darker now than they needed to be, or should have been even with a Biden victory.

No you shouldn't have stormed the Capitol based on a conspiracy theory that Trump and the senators and house members knew wasn't going to happen.
Yes the democrats spent 4 years convincing half the country that Trump is a secret agent for Putin and we should NEVER forget that.

Yes democrats launched a FEDERAL FUCKING INVESTIGATION based on what was an obvious lie, and many "conservative" pundits and writers went along for the ride.
Yes Trump lied to you about the chances to overturn Nov's result and even tried to apparently rope Pence into the lie.

Yes Trump brought a ton of people together for what many of them (I know several who attended but didn't storm the capitol) saw as a final rally and a "thank you and goodbye" kind of thing.
No Trump didn't "incite a riot" and his speech said they would peacefully march towards

the Capitol and applaud the senators voting to contest the electoral count, though it was a hail mary with no hope of success. In hindsight should he have expected his MAGA base to storm the Capitol, given they never launched a riot before?
No, I don't think so.
No, I don't think so.
But they did, and it caught EVERYONE by surprise including me.
I get the anger that they felt, I tried to explain some of it from my perspective in this ranting thread I honestly didn't plan to write.
And though the memes are/were amazing, as were the visuals, it ended the only

And though the memes are/were amazing, as were the visuals, it ended the only
way it could, with democrats seizing on the event to use to punish their enemies, big tech to enact the political censorship they have been pressured to do for years, and now the snowball effect has begun with sites losing their hosting and payment services.
This is only going to inflame the problems that existed before Trump ran for office and continued to build during his time as POTUS. It confirms the worst fears of the people who voted for him because of what they saw, or needed to see, in him. And gave authoritarians all the
cover they need to bring their worst, most oppressive ideas to the floor for a vote, and for corporations to deny services to entire groups of people based on ambiguous "security concerns."
Maybe someone or some people step forward and help to diffuse what is coming, but I honestly doubt it. And my non-trolling hopes for some form of peaceful national divorce, longshot though it may be, likely isn't going to happen either. At least not anytime soon.
Things will continue to get worse, and the corporate press will be at the center of it, cheering and fanning the flames no matter what the human costs may be. The concerns of those proles in red states will continue to be laughed at by the CNN/Bulwark/Dispatch staff.
