actually explaining in a consise way why we (systems) got upset over the glattbur presentation today : thread (please rt!)
the way glattbur switched between themselves, with amnesia between them, makes them present similar to a system. this set off our alarm bells. i love the glattbur joke because it resonates with me as a system, but the way ive seen the fandom treat mental illness in the past?
recently there has been so much weird shit about the split personality ranboo headcanon and the fandom's handling of technoblade's auditory hallucinations, which really put me on my toes and is why some of us seem incredibly sensitive right now. weve seen how youve demonised
mental illness-esque presentation in the dsmp in the past. especially since the fandom is full of young teenagers. we thought it necessary to alert the potential issue as soon as we saw it, and made a big deal about it. we did not want this to be another situation like those.
even if we did admittedly make a huge deal out of a short bit, the way some singlets treated our concern was disgusting. thats all im saying on that
how can the glattbur bit be improved? hopefully it was a one off. if it was not, i just hope it is not played as a dramatic or villainising device, and that they can coexist as a new, interesting character! of course, tension is expected, but there is a line to be crossed
this is of course my opinion as someone with DID, and other systems are allowed to disagree. end of thread ill add more if i think of anything
