When the largest market place on the planet refuses to use readily available AI to automatically verify if an item is based on an existing copyright, and they refuse to ask that seller if they carry a license, they defacto participate in the proliferation of bullshit. For money
Amazon hosts all sorts of Pepe garbage. None of it is licensed. But the problem extends far beyond that. On the book side, they host numerous, wildly popular QAnon-based totems.
Short of banning books, we've reached a point in our Internet history where sites like Amazon can no longer sit idly as impartial "market places"

There is a curatorial responsibility that every other IRL business must be responsible for. Amazon should be no different
Another popular item which I won't link to is the Kek-related garbage, which was seen and photographed everywhere at the failed coup attempt. All of it available on @amazon
To be clear when we say "we," we mean to say the filmmakers of Feels Good Man, who obtained a license from Matt Furie to use Pepe as it relates to merchandise for the film. No one else holds these rights. Yet, our claims are constantly rejected, w no opportunity to clarify.
Lol this one LITERALLY TOOK OUR OWN FUCKING MOVIE POSTER AND TURNED IT INTO A MUG
When we printed t-shirts for our Sundance premiere, the family-run print shop in LA that did the prints literally asked us to show them our license to use Pepe's image. That's a family business. Doing the work. You can't tell me @amazon can't manage the responsibility
Anyway, long way of saying, if you'd like to buy OFFICIAL Pepe and Boy's Club merch, here's our shop
