BREAKING: PELOSI ANNOUNCES SHE WILL BRING IMPEACHMENT TO HOUSE FLOOR.
The House will try to UC a resolution Monday calling for Pence to replace Trump under the 25th amendment.

Then, try to pass the 25th amendment resolution Tuesday if they presumably don't get UC.

Then, "we will proceed with bringing impeachment resolution to the floor."
UC = Unanimous consent, which obviously won’t happen. So we’re looking at what appears to be ~Wednesday for a vote on impeachment - one week before Inauguration Day
BTW, leaders tend not to want to want to announce things unless they are sure they have the votes. Cicilline tweeted he already has 210 cosponsors - a handful or so from a majority of the House.
And I’ve never seen anyone as good at counting votes as Pelosi (save maybe Tom DeLay and Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr.)
Reminder the Senate has already indicated a trial likely wouldn’t take place until an hour after Biden’s inauguration. That’s one reason a lot of Ds focused on urging Pence to act.
"In protecting our Constitution and our Democracy, we will act with urgency, because this President represents an imminent threat to both," Pelosi said in her letter to House members.

Yes the 14th amendment gets a mention as a topic of discussion https://twitter.com/bobbybaird/status/1348423150313361408?s=20
Ted Lieu conditions impeachment happening IF Trump doesn't resign or Pence doesn't use 25th.

But Pelosi's letter doesn't say that? https://twitter.com/tedlieu/status/1348422461310660610?s=20
