WalkAway Why I left the YangGang Thread/

1) I use to log onto Twitter & all of my YangGang friends would provide news, entertainment, etc. and I would leave feeling better about the movement about myself.

Now more often than not, I log on and before I know it, I'm in an 1/
argument. I have to take responsibility for my part in those arguments. Still, 9-10 months ago this was a circle of friends who had respect for each other. We had respect for varying points of view. That respect has all but disappeared.

Use to be if someone was getting 2/
attacked, then someone would hop in and say "Let's remember we're all friends here, etc." Now, that person just jumps on the dogpile too. It's very clearly become about Democratic Establishment vs the rest.

2) Our leader, Andrew Yang, has been spewing forth the platform of 3/
the Democrat party for several months now, and it's begun to brainwash the YangGang. People like @ZachandMattShow use to say "I'm more of a Republican", and I use to respect Matt. Now, Matt regurgitates the DNC talking points like he's getting them fresh off of Nancy Pelosi's 4/
desk every morning. It disgusts me. Many influential YangGang members are doing the same.

This movement has shifted. Ask people like @T4YPodcast & see what he thinks.

3) A very big reason why I'm leaving is I've been blessed to form 25 or so very good friends from the 5/
YangGang, and when I get into daily fights with people who have blue hats on, it's getting to the point that I'm starting to project those negative feelings onto my friends because they're YangGang also. I don't want to lose friends over this. It's not worth it.

Also, the 6/
fights appear to be unavoidable. People the small group within the Mayanks feel an obligation to scour YangGang Twitter & look for sinners. Turns out when you look for problems you find them. These people have not been encouraged to stop instigating trouble. Instead, they've 7/
been encouraged to look for more problems. I object to their activities on a moral basis. You're suppose to have a kind, open heart and deal from a place of understanding; not ridicule. This is my opinion of the YangGang now. A place of self-righteous assholes who look down on 8/
those they disagree with, while they claim to be doing the work of lifting others up. 9-10 months ago we actually did lift each other up. Not anymore.

4) For about 6 weeks I was involved with Humanity Forward helping to recruit volunteers for the Humanity CALLS team. I also 9/
volunteered for several YangGangForCongress candidates and attempted to recruit volunteers for those campaigns too.

This point right here has even made me question the merits of UBI. You would think UBI is such a transformative policy everyone would do all they can. Nope. 10/
At one point I was working through a list of 250 former phonebank volunteers for Andrew's presidential campaign in Iowa. Less than 5 people wound up calling for Humanity Forward endorsed candidates.

This is harsh, but that's my impression of the YangGang. A bunch of people 11/
who talk a great game, but do precious little. Aside from a handful of people who do put in real blood, sweat & tears, hardly anyone else breaks a sweat.

I'm already friends with the hardcore grinders, which for reasons that escape me, those people haven't been recognized 12/
by the YangGang as a whole. You see lists of people being shouted out, but there's literally dozens of people I never see mentioned once. That lets you know that there's this echo chamber within the YangGang that hasn't been on the front lines doing the heavy lifting, so they 13/
wouldn't know who their true comrades in arms are.

If you don't have that spirit inside you, then you're not going to win a fight. For example, @MathMvmt should be HUGE. They're trying to build the infrastructure for the fight that needs to be waged for things the YangGang 14/
says they want. @income_movement puts on an event, sometimes single digit volunteers show up. It should be 100+

@nerdsforyang's Nerds for Humanity & @JonathanMunitz's Hill of Roses these people should be swimming in donations. They're doing the Lord's work. Particularly, 15/
Tom's http://ofthepeople.co  could be a gamechanger. It should receive all the support in the world.

FFS, @MindfulSkeptics has been slaving away to build a YangGang network & he's not getting the recognition he deserves.

Is it possible there's too much in-fighting for 16/
most people to keep their eye on the prize? For these very worthwhile projects to receive the support they deserve.

I say Yes. I say the YangGang use to Roll Deep. Now, the YangGang just rolls over each other.

I'm starting a small campaign consulting service. It never 17/
crossed my mind that I would receive a lot of support from the YangGang. I have my friends & some of them are helping me.

I just don't think we have anything in common with ya'll. We're serious. We're the ones who are going to make change in the next 4 years. Being part of 18/
this is going to hold us back. That's sad but true, imho.

I have YG4Congress candidates who I donated 50-100+ hours of my time for their campaign, and when I asked for 1 hour of their time in return for a project I was working on their response was No Can Do.

Notable 19/
exceptions: @BlairWalsingham @AC4Congress2020 @Thripp2020 @DavidKimForCA and to some extent @_BarringtonII.

While I'm on the subject @donnaimamTX is not a candidate I would support in the future if I were ya'll & I'll leave it at that.

No one should support @LuluForTexas. 20/
She has never supported UBI. She may have paid lip service to @HumanityForward to receive an endorsement, but she's not a true supporter of UBI. Also, with her endorsement, you really should take a closer examination of who Humanity Forward endorses in the future. That was a 21/
misstep on their part.

In conclusion.

Where it Started:

Following every 🧢 I could find. Anybody who had a 🧢 on & needed help. Hey sorry you're going through a tough time. What's your cash app? Lemme help.

I must of sent like $1,500 to YangGang just because they were YG. 22/
I never told anyone that before, but I think it's important. It's important to highlight the damage that's been done.

I donated about $500 or so to YG4Congress candidates. I volunteered over 1,000 hours of my time for pro UBI candidates. I made over 8,000 calls for these 23/
candidates. Outside of @_JMontgomery's generous $20 Amazon gift card, I never received a dime for any of this.

And, I was happy to do it. Btw, Jess doesn't get near enough credit for everything she does. That's criminal.

I'm went from feeling that way to now hate has begun 24/
to grow in my heart. The other day I leave the food bank and I'm on cloud 9. It feels good to help other people. I made the mistake of logging onto Twitter. Next thing I know I'm in an argument with someone. Couldn't even tell you what it was about.

I just know those good 25/
vibes were gone. I know someone with a 🧢 on would rather tear me down than lift me up. Worse yet. I was doing the exact same thing. Just Twitter in general has made me a bad human being over the past few months. I need to fix that, and I need to walk away from Twitter to do. 26/
I've known that I needed to walk away for awhile now, but Twitter was my one connection to the YangGang as a whole.

YangGang has meant A LOT to me, so this has been hard to do. But, I have to do it.

If you're one of my friends you probably have my contact info, but if not 27/
shoot me a DM, and I'll reply with my contact info.

Within the week, I'm going to delete this Twitter account. I need better in my life than Twitter. I need more positivity in my life than the YangGang.

Also, I'm not going to read replies. 28/28
