Did you know that Nazi Hans Asperger's didn't discover autism?

Nor did he coin that term.

He actually plaguerized the work of a Jewish woman in Soviet Russia.

The same woman discovered schizoid personality disorder, the link between codependency & narcisstic parents, and more
The original definition of autism included such things as

- a tendency toward solitude
- absurd ruminations (my favorite)
- intellectual improvement across time (meaning that it was distinct from prior erronious dx in that the child continued learning didn't have deterioration)
Asperger hijacked her research, eliminated the aspects dedicated toward making the lives of autistic children better, and redefined it as defective vs savant.
Interestingly, as the USSR continued to find, and increased funding for, her work, she further separated out her original group of "Scizoid Autism" into separate diagnoses

Schizoid Personality Disorder (which the USA adopted as autism in the early 80s)

and Autism
Her version of autism was a collection of differences in sensory processing, interpersonal interaction, and those "absurd ruminations"

Autistics, she surmised, enjoy thinking just to think.
Meanwhile schizoids exhibited similar *outer* behaviors, but the inner motivations were completely different.
The schizoid child engaged in fantasy thinking (persistent daydreaming, sometimes even to the point of difficulty discerning reality from imagined) as a form of escapism.

The autistic does so for the enjoyment of creating.
The autistic is compelled to make connections between a, b,c,d, and onward.

While the schizoid struggles defining if things are connected, or merely correlated.
The schizoid makes erronious connections between unrelated things, bordering on paranoia.
The autistic desires to connect with others, but does not feel it is necessary, merely enjoyable. The autistic struggles to connect, due to communication, and sensory, differences.
The schizoid, meanwhile, feels a deep need for connection, but fears the vulnerability required, and consciously or unconsciously sabotages relatio ships which become too close or stable.
There's like dozens of these.
Rather than focus on these vital, internal differences, Asperger shifted the focus to usefulness, I'm order to aid in the Nazi genocide.

He redefined autism by how autistic people affected others

- usefulness
- level of support needed

Absolutely gutting the science.
Due to Nazi sympathies, misogyny, and Ableism, the world swept reality under the rug, and accepted Asperger's definition instead.
The 80s were full of the "cold parenting" fallacy of autism, in which

Too much TV
Working moms
Precooked meals

And various other nonsense were blamed for autism (which is a genetic condition)
Meanwhile Scizoid was allowed to be confused with psychotic disorders, and the very real issue of childhood abuse causing lifelong mental health issues was hidden
This was intentional, and it is not coincidence that the nations which accepted Asperger's version were capitalist, while those which did not we're socialist

Schizoids, produced by child abuse, neglect, and narcisstic parenting, are EXCELLENT workers.

Workaholics even.
Schizoids are *compelled* toward hyperindependence, and struggle to access help or even admit needing it

They feel intense got and anxiety when not "useful".

They are suspicious of good things, kindness, and supportive people and institutions

They make excellent slaves.
Schizoids struggle with self care, and with the difference between a want, and a need, a nice to have, and a basic right.

And, unlike narcissists, schizoids translate the majority of needs and rights - things like food, and privacy - as negotiable.
While Soviet Russia was declaring that child rearing and mental health were essential to society, soviet research was being repurposed by capitalists and nazis like Asperger into a how-to manual for creating a subset of people who would become the cogs in the American Machine
