The problem with Twitter is that it's basically a time machine. Or maybe it's a wormhole. It's the place where everything is known, and knowable, all at the same time. And then we (I, I mean me here) want the rest of the world to operate at this timescale. 1/
And it gets so frustrating and painful and downright infuriating the watch the IRL world catch up. To watch investigations play out like they're supposed to, and to watch information be slowly, so agonizingly slowly, disseminated out to everyone, and not just the Very Online. 2/
You realize that you exist in a different timeline. You exist in the future where all the details are known, the facts are obvious, every take has already been taken like COME ON WORLD, we talked about this already, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN. You're like Yoyo in Agents of Shield. 3/
And at this moment, I'm trying to remind myself that the world will get there. The investigations will unfold. Truths will be revealed to more people every minute, every day. The things that are being clamored for, some, if not all, of those things will happen. 4/
I'm also reminding myself that speed leads to mistakes, and delay can be thoroughness, not laziness or ignorance. It's difficult. I feel paralyzed with rage and grief. I feel like when nothing is happening, nothing is happening. But that's not true. The water teems. 5/
Also, I have to be honest, it's incredibly frustrating that when we have all of human history at our fingertips and every opportunity to avoid making the same mistakes over and over again, we keep making the same mistakes over and over again. 6/
But then again, the future isn't written, and everything is known and knowable all at the same time, and we're both tormented and blessed by it. Blessed to have all of this knowledge available and tormented by the need for more and the need for the knowledge to become action. 7/
Anyway it's a weird Sunday in the eye of the hurricane and I need to do the laundry now so thanks for letting me have it out, I guess. Hang in there, friends. The world will unfold on its own time.
