WHAT IS A RUNDOWN?
A rundown is used in broadcasts to have an outline of what happens when in a show. It is used to help keep rhythm/timing.
The picture below is a VERY basic rundown; rundowns are often more complex than this, but this should give you a good feel of it. (1/7)

In this thread, I'll breakdown all of the sections in it. Again, there's other stuff that can be included in a rundown, but this one is similar to the ones I made when I was working on T2/T3/Community Overwatch broadcasts. (2/7)
BLOCK: A quick identifier for a specific part of the show. It's easier to say "we'll be on B1 after break" than mostly anything else. It keeps the show organized so everyone's on the same page.
SLUG: quick summary of what happens in that block. Usually about 4-5 words max. (3/7)

VISUAL: anything that is seen on the broadcast during the block. This includes graphics. More complex broadcasts will have a VIDEO and a GRAPHICS column instead of combining the two like you see here.

AUDIO: anything that is heard on the broadcast during the block. "Bed" means that audio is playing softly under everything else. "BED" can also be a column, though it's uncommon.
TIME ALLOT.: Time allotted, how much time the block takes. (5/7)

NOTES: Things to remember for that block. This part is usually where I'd put the last line of videos so I know when to transition to the casters, or something I needed a reminder for. It's for whatever you need to remember everything you need to do during the block!

That's the rundown of this particular rundown. It should be a huge part of your preproduction and what you can do to make sure your broadcasts run smoothly AND to pivot when you need to during live. ("OK let's take a tech break here then we'll come back on block B1") (7/7)
