With a laptop from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office missing, efforts to spread misinformation will be rampant.

A letter is already circulating online that purports to show Pelosi communicating with Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler.

It is an obvious fake.

As noted by @BrendanKeefe, analysis of the letter shows that Pelosi's signature and seal were copied and pasted onto the fake text.

In what should be a surprise to no one, the fake letter has already being promoted by pro-Trump attorney Lin Wood on Parler and is receiving tens of thousands of interactions.
