It's very easily for us to get isolated into our analysis bubbles because that's basically the culture that the online anime fandom has bred, but it's really important to remember that the average media consumer is only looking for something that's entertaining, full stop.
If you asked the average Game of Thrones fan what the main themes of the show were and how they were executed, they'd give you the thousand yard stare. They're looking for plot twists, endearing characters, and violence, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
I just think this is really important to keep in mind because the fact is that most people simply aren't looking for a show to be "about" anything.
They just want to be entertained, and that's fine.
That's not gonna stop me from overanalyzing everything, but that's just how it is
