......Don't catch me slippin now.
this has blown up a bit and I think it's about time I've explained myself on my intentions with this little drawing I did here. Originally I wanted people to formulate their own opinions about the drawing but more and more people are inquiring to me as my literal meaning with it
One thing that people suspect is that this is a centrist take, that this is the ''Both-sides'' bit. I'm a centrist and I do hold opinions like that, but that doesn't actually have anything to do with this particular picture I made.
My concept behind showing the sickle and hammer wasn't to represent my personal take, it was to represent what I felt to be the take of the national attitude of Americans right now, because it feels to me that this is increasingly how people are beginning to think.
This concept that all leftist are evil communist and all right wingers are Nazi's. This is what I feel most Americans feel, and I feel politicians are trying to exasperate these feelings to pull power in either or direction. This is why both hands are in suits the way they are
Each side smearing the other as best they can be the things they say true or untrue yet as the politicians are doing this they are both slowly choking America to death. The statue of liberty however is seen enjoying this treatment which for me represented how we all revel in this
We revel in torturing each other, seeing others fail, harming one another. We should be appalled but it represents our broader attitude even when it comes to non-political things. We like drama, we enjoy fighting to some degree, you see it alot in social media
We throw our symbols upon the crowd, whatever they may be and whatever they mean to us. In short, this picture represents the fall of rome, for better or for worse, that's why maybe it could be a good thing, a bad thing, whatever it is, what is true is that she's falling.
However shes enjoying her fall, laughing at the pain and drama of it all. That's where it's open ended. Like I've continued to repeat, the eternal theme is that the US is in crisis, how you feel about that is how you feel about that, some people praise it, some people hate it etc
This is summation is a lewd visual representation of "A House divided against itself cannot stand"
