Members of Congress were discharging constitutional duties under Article II and the Twelfth and Amendment. Violent intruders intended to disrupt that process to force a vote in the House, compel some extra-Constitutional process, or simply harm our representatives. Still facts.
The military can't be apolitical in that, it is a means to achieve political ends, however, we go to great lengths to remain non-partisan, a hallmark of our democratic republic. We encourage and respect a diversity of political thought. Our diversity is a strength. Still facts.
We have as a nation and an institution come to this point, in part, because we confuse remaining apolitical and encouraging diverse viewpoints with not execrating those whose thoughts and speech are antithetical to service in our armed forces and to our republic.
Serving, and defending a country founded in part on a principle of freedom of speech and to PEACABLY assemble, does not implicitly and without limitation guarantee those things to all in our ranks. UCMJ Articles 88, 94, 117, 133, 134 and others are punitive for good reason.
If you find yourself, in your thought or speech, empathetic to or aligned with those who use violence and extra-Constitutional action to subvert our tranquility, government, or transfer of power, you have

Still nonpartisan fact.
Stop eating of our country's salt. Shed our uniform and the trust and obligation it imbues. If you do not completely repudiate the insurrection of January 6th, your aims are antithetical to the purpose of your continued service and the oath to which you've sworn yourself.
All leaders can say this, objectively, without mentioning a single elected official. With no comment at all on electoral integrity. Without denigrating the legitimate, dearly-held, lawful political beliefs and thus the diversity of our force.

Our oath commands us to do no less.
Forgive all the misplaced commas and spelling errors, I'm furious.
