Let’s stop this fake trial on the NGOization of governance in #Lebanon. NGOs have only stepped up to the plate when the Gov was criminally absent. No NGOisation in any regalian power or justice or institution building. Only in relief, social support, #humanrights where gov failed
Nobody in NGOs is pretending to replace the Gov. Their ultimate dream is for a Gov to finally emerge & be really present where it matters to cater for the real needs of the people. But until this happens, every effort is required to actually deliver.
While no NGO whatsoever has ever replaced or sought to replace the State in regalian matters; one political group in particular has done it. Yet, it’s easier to complain about harmless NGOs.
Let’s not miss who the #BadGuys are. Yes, NGOs & civic groups may not have coordinated in the best possible way & could’ve been more efficient in using their resources. And you have a #LebGov, a political class who either did nothing or actually killed us. Who’re the bad guys?
