Believing your own narrative fallacy can be a slippery slope. We’d all be lying if we said we’ve never fallen victim to it.
Sports in particular can be extremely random with countless situations that are completely out of the control of the athlete.

Does every play/situation NEED to have an explanation? Or can some be chalked up to randomness of sport?
I think many know the answer, but find it difficult to admit that they can’t be in control of every single one.

Not to confuse this with the importance of the athletes ownership over the things they can control.
When controllable situations arise, the best that I’ve seen maximize their energy there. The other situations? Out of control & hopefully false explanation to comfort ego.
