I don’t want to be a jerk but I’m absolutely positive everyone making blanket “If your pastor doesn’t say ‘x’ leave the church” posts goes to a church where statement ‘x’ is entirely uncontroversial.
And it’s a little worse for ministers to say, because again, a minister making that kind of statement almost certainly serves a church where they face no actual risk for doing so. And they should know better than anyone that ministers don’t always have complete control over
where they serve. At that point, you’re just “holier-than-thouing” your colleagues.
In a ton of settings, getting up and saying “support for Trump is wrong” is just going to drive the people you’re trying to teach further into what you’re trying to pull them out of.

Maybe just trust your colleagues to know how best to address their communities. In the communities where saying things like “white supremacy exists and is bad” is actually controversial, the best way to combat it is almost always a lot more subtle than dramatic denunciations.
