1. Short thread -- Three weeks ago, I filed open records requests to 18 Republican Attorney Generals who supported Texas' false claims to the US Supreme Court of rigged elections in PA, MI, GA, and WI. First batch in:
2. They did not take the time to read the volume of lower court decisions that previously dismissed the claims forwarded in TX v. PA;

No substantive legal analysis of the evidence before signing onto unprecedented request to deny will of voters in 4 states;
3. A principle objection was that "non-legislative actors" changed election procedures for 2020 - even though at least some of them -- NE, ND, UT (and other states won by Trump) had acted similarly.
4. If this was about constitutional principle, these states (and others) would have been named as defendants and presumably would have mounted defenses similar to PA, GA, MI, and WI;
5. Professional staff members appear to have been concerned: "decision to join the amicus is more political than it is legal." Supreme Court will not "interfere with the election in any way." "Wonder what made [AG] sign on?'
6. Effort to coordinate AGs was led by MO Solicitor General John Sauer, close friend of, and appointed by, MO Senator Josh Hawley
