I don't know, but I *think* Starmer is basing his "move on from Brexit" strategy on the idea Brexit will fade away.

But we have 4 years more negotiations on fishing alone - that's written into the deal.

Will Farage shut up about it during those 4 years? Not a hope...
And deal excludes services, 80% of our economy. So negotiations on that will happen for years. And Farage will shout BETRAYAL throughout

And the Telegraph, Mail etc need anti-EU coverage. Its the primary reason people buy their rags. So they won't shut up about it either...
And those readers are the Tory members who choose Tory leaders. So any Tory MP with hopes of succeeding Johnson will inevitably echo the Telegraph and Farage, in the shittest feedback loop since Metal Machine Music (Google it)

So Tories won't shut up about it...
And people will get poorer, experience crises, lose jobs. Industries will shrunk or fail. Do we think they'll be meekly silent? Nope!

And half the country warned about this, and will all LOVE to say "told you so". They won't be silent either...
And the Guardian, Channel 4, Byline Times etc will jump gleefully on every broken promise, dismal failure, hypocrisy and calamity. So everybody reading them will have a constant reminder of how they feel about Brexit. As will Brexiters. So they won't let it go either...
So the notion that Britain will move on from Brexit, and Labour can just shrug and look to 2024... it's not going to happen, no matter how much everybody claims they want it to.

It's staggeringly naive to expect this to just evaporate. It's a terrible strategy....
In many ways Labour are trapped by events. I get that. There is no simple way out of this.

But ignoring it and hoping it will go away is not going to work. And by choosing that path, they're destroying the good will of half the country, and gaining nothing from the other half.
