1/ quick thread on how to survive a pile-on, w/ some comparisons. @PsychRabble often does suchlike 4 academics; this is 4 everyone.
First, everyone should *routinely* check what Lists (made by other tweeters) they're on. Go to "Lists", click on "…", click on "Lists you're on"

2/ When you do that, you get a list of all public Lists you're on. Very worthwhile checking on. Scroll DOWN all the way. Someone may have you on an abuse list, or a list to share with others. Example I made just now below; all here seem harmless. BLOCK anyone with an abuse list.

3/ If you get swarm-attacked by a mob, you can set your Notifications to see only those you follow, or who follow you (I've never done this). This is only necessary for a couple of days. You can also use the "Quality" filter; I never have & never will.

4/ If you're a decent person, your first impulse will be to unconsciously think, "oh, if only I explain, they will understand".
This. Is. A. Big. Mistake.
The ones attacking you are NOT decent people, they are wannabe-sharks, & all they really want is blood. Your blood.

5/ Your next impulse will be, "oh, I must answer all these trolls, because otherwise people in general will believe the awful things the trolls are saying about me".
Nope. Bollocks. The tweet in any thread that matters most is the OT tweet, the very first tweet.

6/ You need to network, network, network. Otherwise you WILL unconsciously believe that the trolls must have a point, that you are in fact wrong & you are evil scum who must be obliterated, which is clearly wrong, unless you are [name redacted]

7a/ Mass pack attacks rated in order of magnitude (my own experience):
top: Eve Peyser's lot. Now largely dispersed, vanished as an entity, but OMG, the utter worst.
Then: trans-issues flamers.
Then ultra-progressive types in science, PZ Myers' lot + others. Now largely defunct.

7b/ Then: ConceptualJames fanbois.
Then: other black pill types
Then: Gnu Atheists. Another lot defunct these days.
Then: covidiots. More on that in a mo.
Then: Cernovich-type MRA's. Easily defeated.
Then: very angry British lesbians who simply can't understand a sarcastic joke

8/ It's entirely possible I've forgotten one lot or another. It's been a long over-10 years on Twitter, & I have been shunned, ostracised &/or pack-flamed by more people than you had had breakfasts for your whole life.

9a/ Onto the #covidiots. They can *and will* very quickly rustle up a posse to come after your ass. They're also useless mostly little twits. The minions are eminently ignorable.
Kevin McKernan will try to sneer at you. Don't take it to heart; he's a fool.
Yeadon will ignore you

9b/ Thomas Binder will try to drown you in bull, then call you a psychopath. It's laughable.
Christine Padgham will *wibble* at you.
Emma Kenny & her partner will viciously flame you, especially if you're a woman, but you can just block the partner. A big deal it isn't.

9c/ All in all, after a mass-attack of the covidiot Clones, the only things I did:
Muted around 137 separate minions.
Put Thomas Binder on Mute too (he gets very obsessive, & is simply tiresome in a sicko way).
and...

9d/ Whatever you do, put @Bobby_Network on Block, not Mute. That boy is astonishingly useless (he said he would do an IP trace on a tweet of mine, LOL), but he makes Thomas Binder look almost sane. I Blocked him when I noticed he had started following me.

10/ Allison Pearson seems to have almost zero fans of her own. Her posse is only because of covidiots in general.
Julia HB has ONE fan, who you can just mute.
Peter Hitchens WILL try to get you pack-flamed, but you just mute 'em all as they roll in, *shrug*.

11/ Toby Young, toadmeister, seems to be wholly without fans. It's almost sad. Not even James Delingpole cares.

"I'll bet y'all [Americans] will get to the point where y'all would really like Bush back instead of Trump", and have Eve Peyser pick up on that (random scans? Search on "Bush"?).
