3 things to do if rolling out asymptomatic rapid testing 👇👇👇

- Robust comms that a negative test does NOT necessarily mean no infection.

- Broaden the number of symptoms that qualify for testing.

- Comprehensive support for isolation if positive. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-55604677
Also, the debate here has already gone toxic (not helped at all by a government minister calling scientists 'shonky').

But I have been thinking & working on rapid tests & testing strategies for months now.
If the media want a line on testing, which doesn't involve saying rapid tests are amazing and we should just test everything everywhere daily, or rapid tests are the devil and completely useless, I'm here and will happily provide some much needed balance & nuance to the debate.
1 more thing - if govt is not providing proper support for isolation, I simply can't & won't support the roll out of mass testing.

The two must go hand in hand - you cannot test your way out of a pandemic.

Any impact of testing will be much limited without #SupportToIsolate
