With many players down, the Sixers gave their rookie Tyrese Maxey 44 minutes and the greenest of lights.

He MAXEYmized this playing time by posting a very efficient 39/7/6/2 with only 2 TOs.

Here is a detailed look into the performance.

[A mini scouting🧵]
The floater was Maxey's biggest weapon in college. Yesterday he cooked an NBA defense with it. A little handoff or a PnR always give him the space and time he needs to release it. His touch on this shot type is just superb.
He was super aggressive with his pullup. Loved to see this kind of confidence in his own jumper. Nice stopping ability and balance allowed him to take advantage of the defense, that mostly played him as a driver.
His rim finishing was soso. Has a lot of strength, patience, balance and contortion flexibility. Displayed on occasion in this game.
But in general some finishing upside is still there. Attacked from the wrong angle and was not well timed. Did not attempt single FT in this game due to poor fouldrawing skills. Settled for too many jumpers and floaters in the HC.
Solid but not spectacular playmaker as advertised. Found the open man in many instances but rarely created space and open shots for teammates by himself with advanced passing.
His best pass of the game IMO did not result in anything but was great to see.
If we want to be nitpicky some rookie mistakes on defense can be pointed out. Was a little jumpy and too weak with his fouls. In the other scene he is awake but just underestimates how good Jokic is at finding cutters. No major concerns here.
All in all, Maxey needs to be praised for this performance. To be that efficient (130 ORtg) on this kind of usage (31 USG%) with only the C-squad surrounding him in his 7th game as a pro is insane. Looks like a solid pick at #21. Who would have thought so? Oh, wait... ;)
