I might have a little bit of respect for the supposed 'free speech' absolutists' "concern" about deplatforming the obnoxious fascists who incited a coup attempt to overthrow the democratic government of the USA if they had also shown any concern at all the last 10 years for e.g.
the *many* Syrian and other Arab & Persian Spring countries' democracy activists deplatformed by Tw and Fb bc of campaigns of coordinated mass false reporting, or because they swore at supporters of the tyrants who killed some of their families or made them homeless exiles.
I guess tens of thousands of MENA civilian democracy activists have been deplatformed that way in the last 10 years. Many probably made alt-accounts, but some gave up trying to speak their truth in public. Deplatforming them is really more serious than deplatforming Trump.
The image is a Nazi propaganda poster from 1928 complaining about their 'free speech' rights being violated. We all know how that went. Freedom of speech is not an absolute right; it is allowed by law to have proportionality checks relative to other more fundamental human rights.
