Nigerians are a very funny people.

Just before the civil war, trains from Northern Nigeria were rolling into the East and South with headless bodies and bodiless heads of Easterners. Their homes and business all over the region were burnt and looted for sport. Some of the
organisers parade today as elder statesmen.

When the war started, Nigeria (with the help of Obafemi Awolowo) used starvation as an economic tool, killing millions of civilian men, women and children.

After the war, Gowon put a policy that literally wiped out the wealth of
Easterners.

Since then, they have been treated as second class citizens in a country they never asked to be in nor agreed to remain in and everytime they have tried to negotiate their continued joinder (read kidnap) to this state, the body bags (lol) have come out quick draw.
The country now went further to either vote or allow to be voted in a half-way bugot accompanied by a posse of incompetent and wickedly bigoted friends who have ruined the economy on which most legitimate business stands while parrotting an illogical and indicator of high level
stupidity in the 98% vs. 5% justification for treating the South Easterners and South Southerners as second class citizens in a country whose running rests almost entirely on the enterprise and resources of this region for now.

Any time one of these people either enters an
office or even thinks of doing so, coordinated campaigns against such person will arise with mud slinging and personality assaults while holding them to higher standards than Nigeria's structure and reality would even allow be possible, sometimes co-opting ignorant neutrals.
And somehow, you wonder why these people will build and lay up all their wealth in their states of origin.

You have no problem with shameless and incompetently fraudulent pseudo-capitalists whose only wealth lies in the violent and destructive state capture of resources from
these regions to give to them flaunting "their" wealth seasonally but you have an issue with legitimate hard workers who prosper IN SPITE OF and DESPITE OPPOSITION of the Nigerian state and structure choosing where to build.

Okay o.
