Frank Lampard should be given a contract extension

A THREAD
Being the son of an incredibly successful player, it was always assumed that Frank got his place in the West Ham academy and team through nepotism.
In other words, he was doubted from the very start. Everyone knows about the infamous Scotty Canham incident at the fans meeting
In spite of this, Frank Lampard as a player is still criminally underrated by rival fans. Make no mistake, he was phenomenal. Yes he was an incredible goal scorer, but he literally had everything a true box to box CM needed and more.
Without doubt, our greatest ever
He made it to the very top, so he obviously has the drive, but admittedly, that’s not everything.

Experience:
He may be a relatively rookie coach, but there aren’t many managers in world football that have the amount of experience at the very top of the game as Lampard.
Being a top player doesn’t automatically make you a good manager, but he clearly has the knowledge and experience of dealing with the highest pressure situations.

Nagelsman, Tuchel etc wish they had his career 😉

He is a winner, he proved that over and over in his playing days
During said playing days, Chelsea churned through plenty of managers. Because of this, Frank is able to draw from his experience working with some of the best managers in the world.

Just imagine a hybrid of prime Jose, Carlo, Guus etc. Each had their own strengths to learn from
It’s incredible that we were able to consistently win trophies while changing manager every 18months during that time, but have no doubts, that is completely down to the players in the dressing room.
Our squad was full of leaders who were also warriors. No matter the shit...
...going on behind the scenes, they were able to produce and more often than not, win.

Compare that to now, we don’t have that in the squad. We don’t have that incredible spine that will grind out results no matter what. The current squad is a project, and needs stability.
The Twitter nazis will have you believe that Frank doesn’t have tactical knowledge or a system, can’t spot defensive errors etc etc. I’m not even going to entertain this bullshit.

It’s common knowledge Frank is very intelligent, hardworking and made it to the very top...
...- you honestly believe he and his highly trained team of analysts don’t know more than wannabe pundits with little to no experience in football on Twitter? Give me a break.
Frank overachieved last season with a mix of academy products and deadwood. Arguably our strongest XI now is made up of academy graduates and signings made this summer barring, at most, Kante, Zouma and Puli.

That’s an incredible overhaul, and don’t forget we had ZERO preseason
Before last season, the last academy product to really make it as a Chelsea player was JT, whose senior debut was in 1998!
After 20 years with no impact from the academy, Frank has made established starters of Mount, Tammy and Reece James, and regularly plays many others.
Add that fact to the unprecedented fixture congestion and the inconsistency of youth, this bad patch was always expected - Frank said it himself during our unbeaten spell.

Yes, that unbeaten spell that no team in the top 5 leagues have matched FYI 👍
And don’t listen to anyone saying we can’t beat teams in the top 6. We beat all of them at least once just last season. The squad has been upgraded on paper, but requires time to reach its potential.

Any other coach in the world would require time with this project FACT.
Finally (I could go on for days but no ones going to read that much 😂) there is the taboo subject: passion.

Hipsters on here will have you believe desire and heart count for nothing in football - utter bollocks.

Football is a romantic game full of emotion, the technically...
...better side don’t always win. If they did, at 2-0 down with 10 men in the Camp Nou, would we have made it to Munich in 2012? Would we fuck.

You remember who set the tone for the fighting spirit on that beautiful, beautiful night?
Chelsea are an iconic club whom players want to play for. Who better to inspire them than Chelsea’s GOAT himself?

He has it all, and he’s won it all.

This is a new era, the days of continued success while churning through managers is over, Frank Lampard is the man for the job
I don’t post much of my own stuff, but really wanted to get some of this off my chest after all the recent negativity.

Frank Lampard will take us to the top, right to the very top 😉
