I feel like I'm shouting into the void. We have a catastrophe looming within weeks, as the mutant strain takes hold in the US. The window is closing to vaccinate and reduce transmission. I've signed up to volunteer with the county to administer shots. I don't know what to do.
This is a serious emergency that dwarfs what we have seen with this pandemic to date. We need to act.
To put it another way: you can only get away with so many errors in responding a pandemic. We have committed many and have started paying a steep price with ↑ cases, ↑ deaths, and now a mutant strain.
We can't afford more mistakes. Each one compounds upon those before.

What can you do? If you can avoid catching and transmitting COVID, that will help. If you have skills, volunteer with vaccination efforts. If you have a phone, call your legislators. This is urgent. All hands on deck.

-Avoid being indoors with people outside of your household;
-If you socialize, do it outdoors;
-Take out instead of dining in;
-Isolate if you are sick.

And what can your locality do? Set up vaccination centers. Stadiums, arenas, gymnasiums. We need more.
