In 2016 when I just got married, it was the most challenging year for me, I had to move from PH to Bayelsa. People who know both states very well would understand that being in Bayelsa from Ph is like moving from the city to the village without a network. All my connections etc
Everything was gone, getting a job wasn't easy. Even doing business was challenging, then come down to adjusting to married life. That one was like a big wahala for me, you know, 2 people from different backgrounds coming together to form a family, bringing in their baggage. I
felt overwhelmed but I gradually started adjusting, I had to make lots of sacrifices that didn't count as much. It was frustrating! Now, why am I sharing this with you? A sister is presently going through the first stage of moving from Lagos to Bayelsa. She is a teacher but
she can't get a good-paying teaching job. Just imagine earning 50 to 100k as a teacher in Lagos and coming down to earn 15k? I am a teacher but I didn't attempt it. I sat down through different phases of confusion before I finally got a direction. Moving because of marriage is
one issue I need to discuss properly with us. Also, the first year of marriage is mostly the most challenging because your differences become obvious. Those things you used to overlook before now become subjects to disagree about, some families give up at this stage but it is
better to reevaluate your options. How you handle this phase is often dependent upon the reason for the marriage. If the reason is solid enough, you guys will fight the challenges together. Forget the devil, those are ambiguous terms used to describe the real situation at home
The devil is just a voice in your head highlighting the obvious in a negative light. He doesn't have that much power, you do all the work. He will just sow the seed and it then depends if you will let it grow or choke it.
Madam said she wants to go back to Lagos, I then
responded by telling her to hold on. Yes, there is money in Bayelsa if you are looking in the right places but I won't borrow you my vision because you might not be able to work it out. The best thing is to take a break and go back to God for directions, He will give you clues.
He gave me clues for almost 4 years and I kept missing them. Being focused on God has it's perks, it comes with comfort and peace plus guidance and direction. You can't miss His voice when you are used to it, you will know when He is talking if you spend time studying. God bless!
