I know where you're coming from and where you're going but that position limits him. Havertz got 5G with 0A playing as an attacking 8 for Bayer in 13 match while he got 14G+A in 20 as AM during 18/19 averaging 0.7G/A per match

Let me analyse his 5 Goals as an 8.
His first 2 goals came away against werder Bremen
The first one was a hit on transition, Havertz moves into the space left by Brandt on the LW volland finds him with a through ball he scored.
2/9
The second was a deflected flick from cross( here he was already acting as a F9 but stat will show you he is played as CM)
- His third was from the spot against Wolfsburg
3/9
4th against Mainz. He scored this by making a late run into the box, Brandt assisted this from the LW while Havertz finishes from the centre of the box.
Note: Whether as CM or anything, Havertz speciality is making runs into the box. But it looks like he's being limited now
4/9
His fifth goal came from a cross where he makes a run into the box to cover the left space by volland, volland saw him making the run and the rest as they say was an history. Another good goal.
5GA in 13 matches that is averaging 0.38G/A per match
5/9
Conclusion

All the 13 games he played there he played well but not to his full capabilities. Yes he will come good playing as an 8 for Chelsea but we shouldn't expect much on GA because he won't get much.

To unleash his full potential I'll advice Chelsea to start trying every combination of a pivot using the Midfielders on ground but time is very essential for this trial which Chelsea don't have much
7/9
This will help Werner too because he feeds off another player, Havertz can be the player if he's played as an adv 10 role where he can behave as a F9 like we have seen in the likes of debruyne and Bruno. Killing two 🐦 with one stone right? But the pivot remains an issue.
8/9
Or a final solution could be Mount as an 8, Havertz as 10 toward the right path of the pitch (RAM). I don't know how this works but Manchester City used this during the days of Silva and KDB and it worked.
9/9
Havertz is not distance shooter, all his goals have been from inside the penalty area.
