Here is the thing about cancellation and de-platforming: it hasn’t worked. You cancel one, and you get 10 more worse ones pop up in their place. Then you insist that @awscloud pull down @parler_app - while yammering about #NetNeutrality . But you do you.
It would be far better to have law enforcement monitor these groups and investigate and prosecute crimes... but you know, whatever. Now @awscloud is officially an unreliable vendor - it’s not just if they don’t like your business - it’s now if they don’t like your customers...
So now when I have to advise my clients on reliability of vendors, I have to say “ @awscloud is reliable, if they approve of your business *and* your customers - if your customers are cancelled, AWS will pull you off the Internet” #NetNeutrality is a fiction.
I find the Capitol insurrectionists odious. They should be charged with crimes & prosecuted. This to me is obvious. @parler_app was an entirely legal business and @awscloud, @Apple & @Google decided to delete them so they could impress you and market to you...
Ok so what happens when an independent media outlet, like say @thehill has some really uncomfortable reporting that they put on their Wordpress site (hosted by AWS) has an expose on corruption involving @amazon? @awscloud will use this precedent to claim they’re insurrectionists.
I guess it will be fine right? 40% of the Internet runs on @awscloud - including every media outlet you use. Let that sink in. #NetNeutrality
Fuck it - I'm sick of warning you all where this road goes - go indulge your id.
Given @amazon's hatred of labor unions, and their "right" to pull down everything legal they don't like - even if that content is legal - what about those indie media outlets reporting on Amazon crushing workers rights, who use @awscloud to host their @WordPress sites?
Have you read any anti- @amazon stories in the @washingtonpost lately? hmm?
